Information and how to book (Newborn)

Celebrate your new arrival and capture this very special time with a newborn portrait shoot.  The ideal time for your newborn session is within the first 14 days of little one’s life.  However, if this is not possible, a newborn shoot can take place any time during the first 12 weeks.  I want you to get the most out of your shoot and end up with a set of images you will treasure, so please feel free to ask any questions or discuss ideas with me.

When should I book?

You can book your newborn session at any time, but after your 20 week scan would be an ideal time.  If your baby has already arrived, then please give me a call and I will try and find you a slot as soon as possible.

How to book

Either give me a call on 01953 603960, 07910507353 or email me info@trishthompsonphotography.com to book.  The session fee is payable at the time of booking, then your date will be secured for you in the diary.  In booking a shoot, you agree to the terms and conditions, which can be found in the drop down menu.

How long will the session last?

My photo shoots are very relaxed, I don’t place a time limit on newborn sessions.  I like to work around the baby’s needs and I have endless patience; babies don’t always want to perform when we want them to, they also frequently wee and poop on the blankets, please don’t feel embarrassed by this – it is expected!  As a rough guide, I would expect a newborn shoot to last around two hours, some sessions can last up to four hours and this should be borne in mind if you are bringing other children to the session.

What do I need to bring?

All of baby’s essentials and plenty of milk.  Even if you don’t use a dummy, it is a good idea to bring one to the session to soothe the baby.  I have several props to use during the shoot, but if there is a special blanket or toy you would like to bring, please feel free to do so.  Don’t forget to bring any change of clothes that you would like to wear for the shoot, try to colour co-ordinate or choose something neutral; black or white work well.
