Four years ago, Hockey Tutorial introduced the first outdoor ice hockey tournament in the UK, giving players the chance to experience pond hockey. I really love to photograph ice hockey and it’s always great to get the opportunity to photograph the sport outdoors. This year’s Winter Classic was held in Mansfield.
Ten teams from across the UK travelled to the Nottinghamshire market town; greeted by sheet rain, they probably wondered if they should have packed wellies instead of skates! All good fun though and the rain eventually cleared out to bright sunshine. Local team, Sutton ‘Air8’ Ducks, were the tournament winners.
