Events are back and boy have I missed photographing them!! By far one of my favourite events of the year is the annual Old Buckenham Air Show. Come rain or shine, the crowds flock to see the vintage aircraft displays, historical re-enactors, classic cars and military vehicles.
This year’s show had the added attraction of the spectacular RAF Typhoon, which made its debut at the Airshow, alongside Old Buckenham favourites, the B-17 Flying Fortress, Sally B, the Spitfire, the Hurricane and the Messerschmitt.
Old Buckenham Airfield has a fascinating history, it was home to the 453rd bombardment group, who were based at the airfield during WWII. Hollywood movie legend, James Stewart, was stationed here during the war, the airfield cafe ‘Jimmy’s’ is named affectionately after him.
