At the beginning of June, I travelled to Sheffield to photograph the annual UK Armed Forces Ice Hockey Tournament.  This was my fifth year as tournament photographer; I consider it a privilege to be a part of this prestigious military competition, which seems to get bigger and better every year.  Teams from across the three Services compete against each other over four days in two mini leagues to become Tri-Service Champions.  The evenings are reserved for the Inter-Service Championship, where the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and the British Army battle it out for the highly coveted Inter-Service Championship Cup. At the beginning of June, I travelled to Sheffield to photograph the annual UK Armed Forces Ice Hockey Tournament.  This was my fourth year as tournament photographer.  I am incredibly passionate about my ice hockey photography and I consider it a privilege to be a part of this prestigious military competition, which sees teams from the British Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy compete against each other to become Tri-Service Champions.  In addition, each evening, the Royal Navy Destroyers, RAF Aces and British Army Blades, battle it out for the Inter-Service Championship Cup.

Get back in the game

Competing in the Overseas military ice hockey tournament in Garmisch, Germany is just one of the exciting things planned for the coming year for the US Airforce Warbirds Ice Hockey Team.  I was lucky enough to get to do the promo shoot for the launch of the club’s new kit – a striking blue, white and red design incorporating  The Warbirds’ new logo, which was designed by the grandfather of one of the club’s former players and features ‘Cherri’, the sassy, flame haired pin up girl.  Some of the guys from the team had great fun doing a little ‘modelling’ in the new jerseys!
