One of the great highlights of being the RAF Ice Hockey Association photographer is the annual RAF Championships which takes place at the end of summer each year in Dundee.
RAF teams based across England and Scotland come together to compete for the highly coveted RAF Champions trophy.
So with my kit bag all packed and lots of layers to ward off the chill of the ice, I made the long trek from Norfolk to Dundee. Read More

At the beginning of June, I travelled to Sheffield to photograph the annual UK Armed Forces Ice Hockey Tournament. This was my fourth year as tournament photographer. I am incredibly passionate about my ice hockey photography and I consider it a privilege to be a part of this prestigious military competition, which sees teams from the British Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy compete against each other to become Tri-Service Champions. In addition, each evening, the Royal Navy Destroyers, RAF Aces and British Army Blades, battle it out for the Inter-Service Championship Cup.
So, what’s it like to be tournament photographer? – Four long, cold days rink side working hard, but worth every second to capture all the action and emotions; the agony of defeat and the ecstasy of triumph! Read More

I am incredibly proud of my work with the RAFIHA and it is a privilege and pleasure to be the Association’s photographer. It has been another fantastic year for me documenting the journey of this great organisation and the people who belong to it. I have taken thousands of photographs throughout the last twelve months and I would like to share with you some of my favourite images from this year ~ Trish
2016 got off to a great start with the Sportsman weekend, where we enjoyed an Aces v Saints game at Ice Sheffield followed by a dinner and presentation evening at RAF Cranwell. With a forthcoming tour to Canada for the RAF Aces, we took the opportunity to do a little promo shoot, with the Aces getting a chance to show off their modelling skills.
The Vulcans and The Bluewings went head to head in the Anglo Cup Final in May; the Vulcans retaining their title as Anglo Cup Champions for another year.
June saw the annual Combined Services Tournament, the Bluewings made a blistering start to the competition in a bid to defend their title, but the British Army teams proved tough competition, as did the British Army Blades who felled the RAF Aces in the final of the Inter-Service Cup.
September, the teams headed north of the border for the RAF Championships. Determined not to let another trophy slip through their fingers, the Bluewings annihilated the Vulcans in the final to become the new RAF Champions.
